2- Research Project/Chronology
The second written assignment is two-fold.
The first part involves preparing a biographical chronology of an important musical theatre figure “Robert Lopez”. You will gather relevant information on an assigned human subject, which you will then put down in chronological order.
Example: William Shakespeare
1564 – Born, Stratford-upon-Avon.
1582 Married Anne Hathaway, First child born.
1585 Twins born.
1594 Joins theatre troupe The Lord Chamberlains Men.
1599 Globe Theatre opens.
1613 Globe Theatre burns down.
This chronology should cover the lifespan of your topic and should note all of the major accomplishments. You should also include a bibliography of the sources you used to locate your information.
The second part is a written summary detailing the contributions your subject made to musical theatre. This summary results from the research done for the chronology, from the opinions of outside sources, and from your own deductions. This part of the project should be 6-8 typed pages.
· Oral Presentation of research project/chronology. Oral presentation will accompany the written assignment. Student should distribute the chronology to each individual class member, and prepare several multimedia examples to enhance their presentation. Oral presentations should be 8-10 minutes in length.
